Choked ?

May 6, 2010 by undertone

What makes God’s Word unfruitful in our lives?

…but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. ~ Mark 4:19

  • worries of this life
  • deceitfulness of wealth
  • desires for other things

Does this world have a strangle-hold on us?

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  ~ Hebrews 12:2

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, your son Jesus Christ warned us that we can get tangled up in the weeds of this life,  becoming not only worthless to you and others in your Kingdom, but lost for all eternity.  Let that thought give us awe for the power of your saving Word, and fear of the things that can separate us from you.  Fill us with the Holy Breath of Heaven.  Amen
